Fiji - Nadi: Surfing Cloudbreak

Our first morning out at Cloudbreak - we  head out with our boat driver Inia, and two late
arrivals who've been partying all night, Sissi, who's Fijian, and her boyfriend Cameron. Both
are heading back to Culver City, California, tonight. Their home break is El Porto, same as
us - small world!

It's a little over a half hour ride out to Cloudbreak and a lot further out from Tavarua
Island than we expected. Restaurant's is close to Tavarua, whereas Swimming Pool's and Namotu's
left are just off Namotu Island with Wilkes pass just to the north. Some amazing surf spots right
off of two very small islands.

Tavarua & Namotu islands

It seems to be a much better deal to stay on Namotu as it's half the price of Tavarua, and has Swimming Pools and Namotu left within paddling distance.

We pull up to empty 3ft Cloudbreak with offshore winds and some bigger sets. It isn't very
consistent but great fun as Mike, Sissi and Cameron trade waves. They surf for about two
and a half hours in the blazing sun and are happy to jump back on the boat seeking shade.

I was thinking of snorkeling but being so far out there, I wasn't sure what lurked below... Later
Inia revealed that he'd seen a black tip shark but hadn't said anything as he didn't want to
scare me...
