Fiji - Yanuca Island: Batiluva Beach Resort & Frigate Passage

On our 3rd day at Batiluva, the weather's not great, but Mike and Ryan go out to Frigate's
anyway.

Mike dancing in the rain :)

In the meantime Mel and I kayak around the bay - we had intended to go a little further
but the wind picks up which makes it very hard. I also realize that my kayak a taken in a lot of
water and discover that it has a hole in the hull - no wonder it was getting harder to
paddle!

It turns to be too windy for the boys as well so they turn around and head back.
After lunch we read and nap.

Come on, give me some swell!

It's our last day and Mike would really like to get some decent surf before we take off. There's no internet or surf reports so it's tough to know what to expect next. Mike and Ryan speak to Sharen and negotiate another ride to the break that afternoon - it's a windy ride out but the boatman assures them the wind is offshore. As they pull in, they found a 3-4 ft rising swell and surf until they have to leave to make it home by dark.
Mel and I snorkel that afternoon. I had great expections since Lonely Planet described the spot as one of the best snorkeling spots, but probably due to the rain, visibily isn't great although we do see some
nice corals and an array of colorful fish.
